Judge rules Miles City Unified School District not liable in sex abuse case

Complaints from two plaintiffs in a massive civil sex abuse trial involving a former longtime high school athletic trainer and the Miles City Unified School District have been thrown out. A state judge in Custer County granted a motion to dismiss the clamis that the district was negligent in not stopping the abuse of the victims who said they informed school officials their trainer Jim Jensen, 79 was performing sexual acts during athletic rub downs. The judge ruled Monday that because Jensen was not the guardian of the abused, the district was not required to report it, according to state law.
