God’s Love shelter in downtown Helena serves up a traditional Thanksgiving meal

HELENA – Dozens of volunteers worked all week to make sure Thanksgiving dinner went off without a hitch at the God’s Love shelter in downtown Helena. The preparation started on Tuesday, with 13 turkeys, four hams, more than 100 rolls, and other traditional trimmings. Gov. Steve Bullock and his family helped carve turkeys on Wednesday. Dozens more people worked elsewhere around the shelter leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday, according to a news release. The shelter has been holding a Thanksgiving meal for about 35 years.
