Suspect accused of stabbing roommate makes first court appearance in Yellowstone County Justice Court

The suspect accused in a stabbing at a downtown Billings motel Monday night made his first court appearance in Yellowstone County Justice Court Tuesday. Andrew Michael Leeper, 29, allegedly stabbed his 56-year-old room mate multiple times at the Dude Rancher Lodge, where the two lived. He faces up to 20 years in prison for felony assault charges if convicted. The victim is said to be recovering after undergoing surgery for stab wounds to his stomach, according to a police report.
