Investigation continues into North Star utility law violations

The Montana Public Service commission is looking into complaints that North Star subdivision violated utility laws when it temporarily cut water service to more than 280 residents. At a hearing held Friday a representative of Rocky Mountain Operations, the subdivision’s utility, testified that budget cuts forced water restrictions resulting in sudden shutdowns of the system. Residents believe the sudden disconnects are retaliation for the PSC rejecting rate hike requests. A public hearing is expected to be scheduled on the matter.
