Helena Police warning residents about Social Security scam

The Helena Police Department is warning residents about a Social Security scam. Multiple Helena residents have reported getting a phone call saying their Social Security number has been suspended “due to suspicious activity.” The person is then prompted to push “1” to find out more information and is asked to give their S.S. number. Police said this is not an actual call from the Social Security Administration and urges anyone who recieves a call like this to hang up.
