Helena Regional Airport is rallying community support for a direct flight aboard American Airlines from Helena to Arizona. The airport has met with several airlines in order to bring more opportunity to Helena, and airport officials say they plan to apply for a Department of Transportation Development Grant by the Jan. 26 deadline, as an incentive. If successful, the flight could start by late 2021 or early 2022.
