Bill to curb school violence would criminalize children, opponents say

A bill to curb school violence would create a possible 10-year prison sentence and $50,000 fine for threats against a school or students. Opponents argued that the bill would criminalize and make felons out of children worsening conditions for students who act out because of behavioral issues without any resources for them. A The House Judiciary Committee meets again Tuesday.
