Helena may have another public transportation option soon. Bird, a California-based “shared micro-mobility” company, hopes to bring its rentable, dockless e-scooters to Helena as early as this spring. A Bird representative met with Downtown Helena Inc. members Wednesday morning to talk about the alternative public transportation option in which users download an app to locate a nearby scooter to use. The proposed scooters would be around Helena’s Westside and would cost riders about $5 on average.
