Residents reminded to be “bear aware” after state park mauling

Authorities are sending out a “be bear aware” reminder to state park visitors, after West Yellowstone resident was mauled Thursday, by what Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks suspects is a grizzly bear. The victim was hospitalized with severe injuries. The incident has led to an emergency public safety closure for part of the Custer Gallatin National Forest.
