A new transition home in Helena is getting positive feedback from the community. The Center for Mental Health had an open house and ribbon cutting earlier this month [May 19] for the $1.5 million Sleeping Giant Group Home, a 12-bed facility which aims to help people with serious mental illness and substance abuse.
The short-term transition facility has been open since mid-February, but officials held the celebration last week due to COVID concerns and to make sure they could have residents at the new facility that officials say has received a positive reaction from residents.
