Act of kindness injures seized horses in Lewis and Clark County

HELENA, Mont. – Some of the horses the sheriff’s office seized earlier this month were injured when someone jumped the fence guarding the recovering animals someone Saturday night and threw apples in, Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton says. According to Sheriff Dutton, the horses fought over the apples and the caretaker later found lacerations, bruising and kick wounds on the horses. The horses are on a strict diet, and if you want to help, donations of hay and money are being accepted, Sheriff Dutton said.
