Firefighting resources being stretched thin early this fire season

Firefighting resources are being stretched thin early in this fire season. Due to those limited resources a new forest fire buring in the Scapegoat Wilderness will have to be fought using local personnel, with limited response, officials said. The Dry Cabin Fire quickly grew from 10 acres to 50 within hours Sunday, and as of Wednesday, July 14, over 300 acres had been burned. Other fires are being fought under a Full Suppression effort, officials said.
