Crews battling fires in Montana say cooler, wetter weather will be a welcome relief

Crews battling fires in Montana say cooler, wetter weather forecasts this week will be a welcome relief and could help calm the fires burning around the state. Officials said Tuesday that a cold front will bring lower temperatures and a chance for gusty winds Tuesday and Wednesday which are expected to keep fire behavior active until the rains arrive. As of Tuesday, there are 25 large fire incidents in Montana, Gov. Greg Gianforte’s office said Tuesday.
