WEST GLACIER – A black bear that was recently injured in a collision involving a vehicle in Glacier National Park has been euthanized. Park officials report that the injured animal was discovered along Going-to-the-Sun Road east of Rising Sun, and was suffering from “unsurvivable traumatic” injuries after being hit by a a vehicle Thursday, according to a news release. Park officials said the male bear was estimated to be 2½ to 5 years old. The visitor who hit the bear did not report the incident, so the circumstances of the collision are unknown.
