MISSOULA, Mont. – Drought conditions will limit bird hunting at Canyon Ferry Reservoir this year. Fish Wildlife and Parks says extremely low water levels will fully dry up ponds at the site, near Townsend and southeast of Helena, within a week. Biologists say the Missouri River has been down most of the summer, and no water has been flowing into the ponds for more than 2 months.
