Helena woman faces life in prison in drug trafficking crime

A Helena woman accepted a plea deal in a drug trafficking crime Tuesday. According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Rhonda Jeanette Lapier, who is accused of helping to bring about 6 pounds of methamphetamine from Las Vegas into Great Falls faces a mandatory minimum 10 years to life in prison when she is sentenced Feb. 16. The 49 year old was detained pending further proceedings, a press release from the District of Montana U.S. Attorney’s Office states.
