HELENA, Mont. – The Montana Supreme Court has overturned a 51-year-old man’s drug trafficking conviction. The justices ruled the arresting officers violated his constitutional right by intimidating him into thinking he was not free to leave, which led to what the judge deemed was unreasonable search and seizure of the man’s car, where 19 pounds of marijuana was found in the trunk. He is serving a 15-year prison sentence.
