No one injured in police shootout in the valley NE of Helena

Reports of gunfire in the valley northeast of Helena early Saturday morning morphed into a shootout with police. No one was injured, authorites said, after a man opened fire on officers responding to 911 calls about someone firing shotgun rounds indiscriminately in the 3600 block of Strandberg Drive, with bullets flying near their homes, according to the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO). The suspect was eventually arrested and charges are pending, LCSO officials said in a media release.
