Man pulled to safety after falling through ice near Hauser Lake

Lewis and Clark County Search and Rescue pulled a man to safety after he fell through the ice near the Causeway on Hauser Lake on Wednesday morning. He was by himself fishing, in an ice shelter, and authorities said, for whatever reason, it went through the ice, according to a release to the press from the Sheriff’s office.
The man was rescued from the water and taken to an area hospital.

Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks is reminding ice anglres to be mindful, as the warming and cooling temperatures can cause the ice on the lakes in the surrounding areas to become unstable. Recreationalists are recommended to never ice fish alone, and keep a tool kit of essential items that can save you if you do go under.
