Results are coming in from a new state program for all schools to make sure their water systems are tested for lead. New rules were introduced in January 2020 aimed at reducing early lead exposure in children, which can be linked to long-lasting health effects. 266 schools have already submitted samples, and another 300 are in the process. In Helena, five schools have been sampled so far.
