BOZEMAN – Yellowstone National Park reported its first grizzly bear sighting of 2022 this week [March 7].
Park officials said in a news release on Tuesday that a Yellowstone National Park wildlife research pilot noticed the grizzly walking in a meadow in the west-central part of the park on Monday. Yellowstone officials are warning outdoor enthusiasts that all of the park is bear country, and grizzlies come out of hibernation between March and early May looking for food and can react aggressively to encounters with humans.
