West Yellowstone man sentenced to 100 years for 2020 death of grandson

BOZEMAN – A West Yellowstone man was sentenced to 100 years in Montana State Prison for his role in the 2020 death of his 12-year-old grandson. James Sasser Jr appeared in court Friday on charges connected to the murder of James Alexander Hurley, whose body was found at his grandparents’ West Yellowstone home.
The child’s grandmother is facing the possibility of the death penalty when she’s sentenced in May.
