Speeding and alcohol deemed factors in pedestrian hit and run near Lewistown

GREAT FALLS – Speeding and alcohol, police say, were factors in a hit and run northwest of Lewistown over the weekend in which a pedestrian was killed. The Montana Highway Patrol said Sunday that the 23 year old died after the driver of a pickup truck lost control and swerved into the victim early Saturday morning while they were walking along Wolverine Creek Road near Joyland Road. The MHP report says β€œthe vehicle and occupants fled the scene.” The investigation is ongoing.
