Timber sale in South Hills of Helena shuts down roadways

HELENA, Mont. – Starting this week, public access to Beaver Creek Road and the Brooklyn Bridge area in the South Hills of Helena will be blocked. A release from the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest says weekday closures will be in place for a timber sale at Brooklyn Bridge for public safety due to logging and log hauling operations. This closure is expected to last from May 31 to October 31. The closure will be in place on weekdays, but do not apply on the weekends, the release states.

ALSO…

road work will temporarily shut down the northern 25 mile stretch of the Beaver Creek Road, starting at Nelson. Construction began today [May 31], and the culvert replacement will take place on June 1. A temporary closure will be required and travelers should expect delays.
