HELENA – West Valley Fire Rescue will have to find a new leader. After 32 years of service, Chief Jerry Shepherd announced he is officially retiring. The retiring chief first joined as a volunteer firefighter in 1989. The Board of Trustees will now begin the search for the next fire chief. Anyone interested in being a firefighter can pick up an application at the department.
