MISSOULA – Be bear aware! That’s the reminder State wildlife officials are sending residents after reports that several grizzly bears have been spending time in the northern Bitterroot Valley this month, with two bears spotted most recently on the east side of the valley, in the river bottoms and edges of the Sapphire Mountains near Florence and Lolo. FWP is urging campers and homeowners to keep areas clean and garbage free, and remove bird feeders and other attractants around homes, such as pet food, indoors.
