FIRE DANGER REMAINS HIGH….

LINCOLN – A wildfire sparked Tuesday [Sept. 6] is burning west of Lincoln near the intersection of Highway 200 and Highway 141. Eight aircraft, four engines and one initial attack crew were responding to he Arrastra Fire discovered at 2:55 P.M. yesterday, according to the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. Lincoln Volunteer Fire Rescue posted videos and pictures Tuesday of air tankers making drops on the fire, which is highly visible from Highway 200. The cause of the fire is currently undetermined.

Yellowstone National Park indicates fire danger throughout the park to be very high. This year, there have been three wildland fires. The park does not have any current fire restrictions in place or planned. Visitors of the park are permitted to have campfires by using established fire rings, a YNP release said.
