HELENA – HELENA – Gov. Greg Gianforte’s administration published a rule change Thursday that said the state health department will not amend the sex marker on a birth certificate based on “gender transition, gender identity, or change of gender.” This was despite a District Judge’s order to stop enforcing the 2021 law.
New DPHHS Director scheduled the rule to go into effect on Saturday.
