Hot Springs man sentenced to 80 years in Montana State Prison for killing roommate

THOMPSON FALLS – A Hot Springs man has been sentenced to 80 years in the Montana State Prison for killing his roommate. Sanders County District Judge John W. Larson recently handed down the sentence after a jury convicted Aaron Eugene McLaughlin in June on a deliberate homicide charge. McLaughlin killed his roommate in October 2020 by blunt force trauma that caused a massive brain hemorrhage, according to a news release.
