Community celebration marks reopening of historic Temple Emanu-El

Helena residents got a sneak peek of what the historic Temple Emanu-El building in Helena now looks like, after the Montana Jewish Project finished its acquisition of Montana’s oldest synagogue. MJP welcomed the public on Sunday, during a community celebration, to officially reopen the building. They’re currently making some minor repairs to the building’s roof to get ready for winter. And, a cross and coat of arms that marked its use by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Helena were removed last week [Oct. 5].
