High arsenic levels detected in drinking water

HELENA, Mont. – Residents are being alerted after high arsenic levels were detected in drinking water. Levels exceed the drinking water standard in the Tenmile Creek, Prickly Pear Creek and the Helena Valley irrigation canal, Lewis and Clark Public Health warns. Officials said residents who are on private wells should get their water tested. You can pick up free arsenic and uranium test kits at the Lewis and Clark County Water Quality Protection District (WQPD).
