You may see smoke coming from the HLCNF this month

HELENA, Mont. – You may see smoke coming from the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest (HLCNF) coming up soon as fire personnel are preparing for fall and winter prescribed burning operations. According to the HLCNF, controlled burns will be conducted on the north face of Mt. Helena and in Mt. Ascension Natural Park, as part of a multi-month project conducting prescribed burning activities in the areas. Trail closures will intermittently be put in place from November to around mid-April 2023.
