Agreement reached between Lewis and Clark County and sheriff’s union

An agreement has been reached between Lewis and Clark County and the sheriff’s employee union. Lewis and Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton called the agreement a win for Lewis and Clark County Detention Center officers.
Dutton said budget constraints prohibit hiring more officers, adding, the Montana Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association intends to propose legislation during the upcoming 2023 session that would codify compensation for detention officers.
