Missoula, MT – A huge drug bust put nearly two dozen people in federal prison, including several from Montana. The U.S. Attorney for the State of Montana said during a press conference Thursday that 22 individuals, many from Montana, with ties to the Mexican Cartel were convicted of drug crimes. The cartel was responsible for shipping massive amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl into Butte to be distributed throughout Southwestern Montana, including in the Missoula area, according to the statement. The undercover drug trafficking operation was prompted after a Butte resident reported drug activity going on in his neighborhood.
