KALISPELL – A burglary suspect linked to a 2022 double homicide in Big Fork has been officially charged with two counts of murder. According to charging documents, Flathead County Sheriff deputies took Derrick James Jackson into custody on Oct. 28, 2022, after numerous reports of an armed man breaking into homes on Esteban Lane in Bigfork. Following an investigation deputies found an elderly couple fatally shot in the head at their home in Bigfork.
Jackson remains jailed in the Flathead County Detention Center on $1.5 million bond.
