Proposed house bill would adjust how school districts could form new high school

A new house bill introduced this week would adjust how a school district could form a new high school, a move currently being explored among Billings’ West End K-8 districts. House Bill 707 would change the current procedure requiring elementary districts consolidate in order to form a new high school district. The proposed bill is a response to a proposed new high school district on the west end of town to curb overcrowding across the high schools in District 2.
