Racially charged notes left on cars with out of state license plates in the Helena-area have police on high alert. A Carroll College student reported receiving a message on her car that was profanely demeaning and read, “you are not welcome here.” One resident said she got a nasty note and her car keyed in the parking lot of Walmart. There is a line between free speech and illegal activity, and police urge anyone who was a victim of these ‘nasty notes’ to report them immediately.
