HELENA – The 2023 Montana legislative session wrapped with Gov. Greg Gianforte vetoing a marijuana tax bill. Now, supporters of that bill are hoping one final maneuver can keep the proposal alive. The Republican pushed proposal passed the Legislature. However, because of the timing of the veto it’s not clear whether lawmakers will get a chance to try to override it. In its final version, SB 442 would have used 20% of marijuana revenues to help counties fund infrasturcture and conservation projects, as well as a state account for veterans.
