A firefighter from the Cascade City/Farmer Rancher Rural Volunteer Fire Department who died in the line of duty will be recognized this weekend. Kenneth Lemanski, 37, will be among 79 firefighters honored during the 42nd National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend in Maryland. Cascade residents are urged to put out red lights, window covers and flags to show their support. The department will also hold a local event at the Cascade Firehall this evening [Friday] in honor of Lemanski.
