GREAT FALLS – An East Glacier man was sentenced this week to 11 years and eight months in prison, after he admitted to shooting a man to death while he was high during a drug fueled birthday party on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Dillon James Wippert, 27, pleaded guilty last year to second degree murder, in the 2020 fatal shooting of his friend as they celebrated Wippert’s birthday at a residence in the Bear Paw community. Family members found the 19-year-old victim dead in his bedroom with a bullet to the head.
