Pay raises for the Helena City Commissioners and mayor were approved

Pay raises for the Helena City Commissioners and mayor were approved. Commissioners and the mayor voted 4-1 Wednesday evening to increase their salaries effective 2024. City Commissioner Sean Logan voted against the raises saying, he was “uncomfortable” with the prospect of “voting myself a raise.” The mayor will recieve a 36% hike, while the commissioners’ salaries will increase by 22%. The Helena Mayor’s and Commissioners’ salaries have increased twice in the past 20 years, in 2012 and 2020.
