Investigation into inmate death at the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center remains ongoing

The state Department of Criminal Investigation is now looking into the death of an inmate at the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center earlier this month, the sheriff said in an update Thursday. Anthony Simons was brought in on a mental health issue, Sheriff Leo Dutton said and was found dead in his cell on June 7. He said an autopsy was being done by the Cascade County coroner’s office.
