Montana officials rethinking private transport services after inmate escapes

Montana officials say a botched fugitive transport, in which a murder suspect escaped, has them rethinking the capabilities of private prisoner transfer services. Chadwick Shane Mobley, who was en route to Missoula from Lincoln County on Sunday slipped out of his handcuffs at the Plains Town Pump and evaded law enforcement for nearly two days before he was apprehended Monday night. According to news release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the private transport service was bringing Mobley to the Missoula airport, to be flown to Michigan, when he escaped.
