HELENA – More legal troubles for Montana Sen. Jason Ellsworth, this time involving domestic abuse allegations, appear to be resolved. The Republican Senate President said in a statement Tuesday that his ex-fiance has agreed to withdraw a restraining order filed in Lewis and Clark County accusing him of physically assaulting her during their six-year relationship. Ellsworth denied the claims. He accepted a plea deal for a 2021 traffic stop in Broadwater County, where he argued that he was exempt from being detained because he’s a state legislator.
