Too much traffic is one reason residents say they do not want a proposed 170-unit subdivision to be built in Mount Helena. The proposed West Side Major Subdivision is in the final stage of the city’s review process, but nearby neighbors say they worry the influx of the estimated additional 1,400 vehicles will overrun the already congested roadways. The city’s parks board will consider the proposal during its Aug. 4 meeting. A second and final public hearing on the subdivision proposal is set for Oct. 4.
