New details released in fatal bear attack NW of Helena

HELENA Mont. (AP) – We’re learning more about a fatal bear attack NW of Helena. Wildlife officials said Wednesday that, Leah Davis Lokan, 65, of California, was on a long-distance bicycling trip and had stopped in Ovando when an approximately 400-pound grizzly pulled her from the tent and killed her Tuesday night as she slept. The bear is also believed to have entered a chicken coop in town that night, killing and eating several chickens.
