Helena officials are reminding voters of new registration rules just ahead of Helena and East Helena’s city elections. This is the first municipal election held since the Montana Legislature passed House Bill 176, which eliminated Election Day voter registration. Now, late registration will close at noon on the day before the Nov. 2 election. As of Tuesday morning nearly 20,000 ballots were mailed out to Helena vorers. Ballots must be received at the elections office by 8 p.m. on election day.
