A new cable provider could be coming to Helena. The City Commission unanimously voted to approve the first passage of an Ordinance granting a franchise to TDS Metrocom, a telecommunications company based in Madison, Wisconsin. If the city ultimately grants TDS a franchise the company would build a cable communication system in Helena city limits. The next step in what officials said is a years long process, will be a public hearing to gather feedback from the community set for November 22nd.
