Helena Public Schools thanked parents for rolling with bus route changes

Helena Public Schools leaders thanked parents for being patient and adjusting to its bus route changes. The district has had to juggle scheduels to deal with a school bus driver shortage and has implemented rolling week-long suspensions, during which families are asked to get their kids to and from school. The school district is offering some financial reimbursement to families carpooling kids while routes are suspended. The district plans to restart three bus routes for students with special needs next month. Helena Public Schools says the district is still short about 15 to 17 drivers, out of 68 positions available.
