The Lewis and Clark Humane Society is getting help from beyond. The facility received nearly $12,000 from the #Betty White Challenge, a Jan. 17 fundraiser honoring the “Golden Girls” and “Mary Tyler Moore Show” actor who died of a stroke on New Year’s eve [Dec. 31], the Associated Press reported. The challenge encouraged social media users to donate $5 to a local animal rescue organization in White’s name on Jan. 17, which would have been her 100th birthday.
